With 6 days to go there are few places that you could go in this country that would make a bigger difference than Hamilton County, Ohio. Read on to hear why.
If you watched Meet the Press last Sunday you saw Chuck Todd talk about the importance of Ohio, you saw him circle Cincinnati and say “watch Hamilton County on Election night.” Why? Because Hamilton County (Cincinnati) has always been the GOP firewall in Ohio, that is until 2008. When Hamilton County went for Obama that year they were done in Ohio and they knew it.
They know they will lose in Cleveland, in Toledo, in Dayton in Akron and Youngstown. But if they can hold Hamilton County they still have hope of carrying Ohio. If they lose Hamilton County that hope becomes very thin. Plain and simple, we need bodies; we need canvassers to get out the vote this weekend. There was a reason President Obama was scheduled to be here today until Hurricane Sand y forced cancellation of that visit. He still may be here again before its over.
If you are in Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee or anywhere else for that matter and can get to Cincinnati this weekend, we can use you. Here is how to plug in:
If you want to get involved, there is one point of contact. Email Sarah Antel, Regional Volunteer Director, at santel@ofaoh.com or call her at 859-322-9907. This is the way in. If that doesn't work try calling the Hamilton County Democratic Party at 513-421-0495
Or if you come here, there are 8 field offices in Hamilton County where you can go and get plugged in. Canvassing shifts will launch on Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 am, 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm. Canvassing will be going on Monday and Tuesday as well.
Those eight offices are at:
Forest Park, 1240 West Kemper Rd, 45240. (across the street from Forest Park City Hall).
Roselawn, 7364 Reading Rd., 45237 (just south of Section Rd.).
Colerain Township, 3032 West Galbraith, 45239 (just east of Colerain Ave).
Over the Rhine, 1130 Main Street, 45202 (one block north of Central Parkway).
Cheviot, 3722 Harrison Ave., 45211(just south of Cheviot City Hall).
Walnut Hills, 2718 Woodburn Ave., 45206 (halfway between Madison and Wm. Howard Taft)
Symmes Twp., 11904 Montgomery Rd., 45249 (next to Papa John’s, south of Fields Ertel)
College Hill, 5846 Hamilton Ave. 45224 (across from Goodies Barbeque).
Lets finish this job.
